Vertical Form Fill Seal Equipment
Vertical Form, Fill and Sealing Machinery
Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) systems are used where products need to be filled and sealed efficiently from a continuous film reel. Machine configurations can be tailored to suit a wide range of products, pack formats and production requirements, from standard pillow bags through to block bottom, gusseted and doy-style packs.
Solutions are available for both standalone packaging applications and fully integrated production lines, with machine specification determined by product characteristics, throughput requirements and pack presentation objectives.

Where Vertical Form Fill Seal Machines Are Used
Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) technology is widely used for products that can be accurately dosed and filled into flexible packaging. Typical applications include powders, granules, snacks, confectionery, frozen foods, bakery products, pet food and a wide range of non-food consumer products.
The flexibility of the technology allows manufacturers to produce multiple pack formats from a single machine platform. Depending on the application, systems can be configured to produce pillow bags, gusseted bags, block bottom bags and doy-style packaging while maintaining consistent seal quality and pack presentation.
For many manufacturers, VFFS systems provide an efficient combination of production speed, packaging flexibility and reduced material consumption.
Factors That Influence VFFS Machine Selection
Selecting a VFFS machine involves more than choosing the required production speed.
Product characteristics, fill accuracy requirements, pack dimensions, film specifications and changeover frequency all influence the most appropriate machine configuration. Products that are free-flowing often require different dosing systems to those used for fragile, irregular or difficult-to-handle products.
The choice of bag style can also influence equipment specification. While standard pillow bags remain common across many sectors, applications requiring improved shelf presentation or increased pack stability may benefit from block bottom, gusseted or doy-style formats.
Understanding the operational requirements of the wider production process is often critical when determining the most suitable solution.
VFFS Systems Within Automated Packaging Lines
While VFFS machines are frequently installed as standalone packaging systems, they are often integrated into larger automated production environments.
Product feeding, weighing systems, dosing equipment, inspection technology, secondary packaging and palletising systems can all be connected to create a coordinated packaging line. Integrating these processes improves production efficiency, reduces manual handling and provides greater consistency across the packaging operation.
For higher volume manufacturers, a fully integrated packaging system can often deliver greater operational benefits than implementing individual packaging processes separately.
Our Vertical Form Fill and Seal (VFFS) machines are designed to deliver efficiency, accuracy, and long-term reliability. Built to adapt to a wide variety of products, speeds, and packaging styles, each machine is configurable to meet your unique requirements.
